Kyle Deeds is an incoming assistant professor at Boston University, joining in the Spring 2026. He is interested in the intersection of databases, compilers, and tensor programming. His work has two main branches. First, he aims to make high performance computing accessible to domain experts through declarative programming coupled with automatic program optimization. Second, he is excited about building systems to support the open-data community. In this vein, he is currently working on an open-data project called Govscape that provides a modern search interface over all publicly available government PDFs.
