Admissions
The application for the Department of Computer Science PhD program is available through the admissions office of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS). Please note that the application fee is required for an application to be processed.
PhD Program Deadlines
The deadline to apply for the PhD program is December 15. Applications close at 11:59pm (23h59) Boston Time (Eastern Time Zone, UTC – 05:00). If you are currently located in a time zone west of Boston (i.e. UTC – 06:00 to UTC – 11:00), you must submit your application one to six hours before midnight in your time zone. The program admits applicants for the Fall semester only.
All applications and materials must be submitted electronically through the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
PhD admissions decisions are typically completed by April 15. Financial aid decisions are made separately. Due to the high volume of applications received, we request that applicants do not inquire about their applications before this date.

Please refer to GRS’s fellowship aid for more information about financial aid. GRS has an application fee waiver. Eligible applicants may apply through the page and they should apply in advance of the application deadline.
