Assistant Professor – Physics & Computer Science

Alexander Poremba is an assistant professor at Boston University, where he shares a joint affiliation with the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Physics. His research focuses on quantum computing and its impact on physics and cryptography. He has made foundational contributions to the theory of quantum pseudorandomness, unclonable cryptography, and the post-quantum security of hash functions. He received his Ph.D. from Caltech in 2023, and he completed his postdoctoral studies at MIT.
