Gong Named 2025–26 CDS Faculty Fellow

Assistant Professor Boqing Gong has been named a 2025–26 Faculty Fellow by the Faculty of Computing & Data Sciences (CDS). The CDS Faculty Fellows Program supports exceptional faculty pursuing novel, interdisciplinary computational and data-driven research with strong potential for long-term impact, while fostering a vibrant cross-disciplinary scholarly community.

Gong’s research bridges computer vision and machine learning, with a focus on visual understanding, generalization, and efficiency. His work advances how machines interpret objects, scenes, and human activities, contributing to innovations in foundation models, visual analytics, and visual generation. In addition to his research, Gong serves as an associate editor for leading journals including IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence and the International Journal of Computer Vision, and holds leadership roles at major AI conferences.

Through this fellowship, Gong joins a distinguished community of CDS Faculty Fellows whose work advances data science across diverse domains.
