A new zebra fish and frog facility was created for the Laboratory Animal Science Center (LASC) located on the 6th floor of the Center for Biomedical Research (CABR) at 700 Albany Street. This project involved demolishing the surgery suite and laboratories. There was extensive plumbing work required to install floor drains and a standalone reverse osmosis (RO) water system to supply water for the fish racks. A water proof epoxy floor system was installed throughout the wet areas. Two large housing areas were created with the RO system, filtration system, and associated pumps were built out between the two housing system. Additionally, a quarantine room, microscope room, and procedure room was created. Also, a room separate from the zebra fish housing areas was created to house frogs.
