After a successful pilot program in 2019, Campus Planning & Operations has continued efforts to provide free menstrual products by installing new product dispensers and updating coin-operated machines to now dispense products for free. This project is based on recommendations outlined in an April 2019 study by CAS Student Government.

As of April 2023, the group has installed or updated over 400 menstrual product dispensers in 40 buildings across our three primary campuses. The team is installing dispensers in multi-occupancy and all-gender bathrooms. By the end of the effort, the team expects there to be more than 500 free product dispensers in over 50 buildings across our campuses. To better align with the University’s sustainability efforts, the dispensers are gradually transitioning to 100% organic cotton products, a more sustainable option in the long term.
