CPO undertook the restoration of another stately row house during the 2011 winter break to create a new space for Boston University’s Investment Office which was displaced during the construction of the Yawkey Center for Student Services. As with similar projects, exterior masonry were cleaned and repointed and fenestration, windows, and doors were painstakingly restored or authentically replaced in kind. Interior walls and structural components (including the roof) were replaced; new mechanical, electrical, HVAC and fire alarm and suppression systems were installed. As a reflection of Boston’s rich history, all interior restoration and finishes mirror the turn-of-the-century architecture, including the hearths, mantles and casework surrounding three large fireplaces. The renovation was completed in late Spring 2012. The building is certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council.
