The conversion of the Castle into the Dahod Family Alumni Center required relocation of Events & Conferences who utilized the Castle for office and support space.  This project developed a portion of the north end of the Agganis Arena into new space for Events & Conferences. After a review of several locations across the campus, it was determined that unassigned space in north end of Agganis Arena had a number of benefits even over their current space in the Castle. The West Campus location is within close proximity to arena management which oversees all functions in Agganis Arena, providing the opportunity for these two departments to coordinate marketing efforts. The area is also the hub of major summer housing operations, including the camps utilizing West Campus and the Student Village for parents and outside clients.  In contrast to the large number of small offices available in the Castle, the design of the new space is primarily one of open landscape allowing for improved communications among the staff as preferred by the operations of the office.
