CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 6/6/16

The team will continue replacement of glass units on the Commonwealth Avenue side of the building. Installation of window frames and glass, as well framing and sheathing from the swing staging, will continue on the Cummington Mall and Morse Auditorium sides of the building.

Myles Furniture Donation Loadout

On Saturday, a nonprofit company, Build Health International, will be onsite loading out donated furniture that will be shipped to Haiti. All loadout will be done on Beacon Street. Permission and permitting have been secured from the City.

BU Helps FM&P Manager Live Her American Dream

Maritza Melara, a recent MET College graduate, is not your typical BU student. Just like many other undergraduates, Melara often pulled all-nighters during her time at BU. But unlike many of her classmates, she wasn’t up all night studying. Instead she worked the night shift as a custodian for the University.

Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – Week of 5/23/16

Subcontractors will be receiving deliveries all week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Beacon Street and Bay State Road. On Saturday, a nonprofit company, Build Health International, will be on site loading out furniture donated by BU that will be shipped to Haiti. All load out will be done on Beacon Street between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Bee Keeper Rescues a Swarm

As a service provider we are called into many unusual situations. Our Plumbing Manager and Commencement Czar, Bill Murray, was asked to relocate an active swarm of honey bees from the pedestrian way behind 10 Buick Street. He came in early and saved the day again!
