Dummer Street Lane Closure – 3/30 & 3/31
Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on March 30 & 31, there will be a crane and tractor trailer on Dummer street to remove a whaler beam and support excavation. As a result, traffic on Dummer Street will be reduced to one lane traveling westbound. This plan has been approved by the town of Brookline.
Myles Standish Hall – Saturday Work – 4/1/17
Work at Myles Standish Hall on Saturday, 4/1/17 will include interior framing, masonry work on staging (Bay State Road), window removal on fraco, (Beacon Street) and clean up and loadout (Bay State Road).
Myles Standish Hall – Fire Alarm Testing – 03/30/17 to 04/17/17
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 3/30/17, the electrician will be running a test of the fire alarm system on the construction-side of Myles. During this time the strobe lights will be going off and minimal sound will be emitted through the speakers, as needed. The work is expected to continue intermittently until 4/17/17.
Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – 3/25/17 to 3/31/17
Work at Myles Standish Hall the week of 3/25/17 will include • Working off of fraco on remedial restoration, continuing limestone installation, continuing window installation, beginning restoration work in the Annex alley, continuing installation of roof flashing, and load out of demolition debris.

Work at Myles Standish Hall during the week of 3/18/17 will include continued work on the exterior facade, limestone installation on the first and second floors, and installation of windows.
$10 Million Gift Names New CFA Theater
Thanks in part to a $10 million naming gift from BU trustee Steve Zide (LAW’86), the new 75,000-square-foot theater complex rising next to 808 Comm Ave will be named the Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre, a tribute to Zide’s theater-loving wife, Janet Zide, and her parents.

BU Theatre Center – Construction Activity – 3/10/17-3/20/17
Removal of SOE-Whaler Beam and Start of Cross-lot bracing on B2 Level – According to the plan approved by the structural engineer, backfilling of the support of the excavation cavity and removal of the support can begin when the slabs on levels B1 and 1 are in place, for structural integrity.

Construction work at Myles Standish Hall from March 3 – March 10 will include the continued installation of roof flashing, limestone, and windows, and rebuilding exterior façade on the Beacon Street and Bay State Road sides of building.
