Dummer Street Lane Closure – 3/30 & 3/31

Between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on March 30 & 31, there will be a crane and tractor trailer on Dummer street to remove a whaler beam and support excavation. As a result, traffic on Dummer Street will be reduced to one lane traveling westbound. This plan has been approved by the town of Brookline.

Myles Standish Hall – Fire Alarm Testing – 03/30/17 to 04/17/17

Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, 3/30/17, the electrician will be running a test of the fire alarm system on the construction-side of Myles. During this time the strobe lights will be going off and minimal sound will be emitted through the speakers, as needed. The work is expected to continue intermittently until 4/17/17.

$10 Million Gift Names New CFA Theater

Thanks in part to a $10 million naming gift from BU trustee Steve Zide (LAW’86), the new 75,000-square-foot theater complex rising next to 808 Comm Ave will be named the Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre, a tribute to Zide’s theater-loving wife, Janet Zide, and her parents.
