Daily work hours are from 7 am – 3:30 pm.
The Traffic Management Plan for the project has been approved by the Boston Transportation Department. (Implementation of the plan was underway this week and will be into next)
Step 1– Relocated accessible parking spaces posted for use on June 29th (in front of 81 and 83 Bay State Road), existing spaces to also remain in place until July 5th.
Step 2– Jersey barrier placement securing parking lane only starting on July 5th, sidewalk to remain accessible in front of Kilachand Hall until bike lane is relocated.
Step 3– Bike lane relocated south, in front of Kilachand Hall, tentatively set for July 7th or July 8th.
BU parking spots directly behind Kilachand Hall on Back Street remain ano-parking zone. This will continue for the duration of the project to maintain an adequate drive lane for local traffic on Back Street and allow for the construction team to safely contain a work area north of the dormitory.
Kilachand Hall will be unoccupied until August 19th, 2022 while construction gets underway. There will be no access to anyone other than the project team and BU trade shops. August 19th is the start of RA move-ins for the fall semester, August 29th is the campus-wide move-in date.
Scaffold erection continues at the northwest end of the building near Back Street.
