Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre & Boston University Production Center – Construction Activity – 8/10/17 – 8/21/17
For August 10, 2017 through August 21, 2017:
- Permitted by the Town of Brookline and in accordance with the approved Construction Management Plan, authorized work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday work schedules must be requested and approved by the Town.
- Brookline and Boston Police details will continue to be posted at the two construction site entrance gates, one at Essex Street and one at Dummer Street, and the fence along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
- Completion of roofing on the production wing
- Completion of interior wall paingin in the production wing
- Air and water balancing of mechanical systems in the production wing
- Completion of ceiling mounted mechanical and electrical systems in the flexible theatre
- Completion of the monumental glass installation at the north side of the building facing Commonwealth Avenue
- Rigging of ceiling mounted support brackets for the equipment in the flexible theatre is underway
- Installation of granite facing on the north elevation at the Essex Street ramp
- Cleaning in the production wing
- Installation of parking booth pad and associated electrical infrastructure
Key Construction Activities
- Place stone base at production wing exterior walls at select locations beneath the metal panels
- Complete glass and metal panel installation at the north façade facing Commonwealth Avenue
- Complete electrical wiring to support owner furnished power equipment
- Installation of drywall on level four of the theatre building
- Floor staining and polishing in the production wing corridor
- Work on west elevation will continue on Saturday, 8/19 and Sunday, 8/20
