Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – 8/6/16 – 8/12/16
Deliveries
- Subcontractors will receive deliveries all week between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both Beacon Street and Bay State Road.
Onsite Construction
Saturday Work – 8/6/16
- Permission and permitting have been secured from the City to work from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Interior cleaning of Myles and the Annex and load out of all floors.
- Load out of dumpsters on the Beacon Street side of building. Dumpsters will be swapped throughout the day.
- Activities will require workers to be on the roof and trucks and equipment in point park area.
Demolition Abatement
- Load out at Beacon Street – Load out demolition debris from 1st floor to dumpster with ongoing daily dumpster swaps.
- Continue with load out down chute (interior).
- Demolition and load out of basement.
- Abatement on floors 1 and 2 (interior).
- Demolition of floors 4, 5, and 6 (interior).
Masonry Restoration (Exterior)
- Continue with masonry demo on the Bay State Road side of the building.
- Continue installation of concrete masonry units (CMU) at 9th floor on the Beacon Street side of building.
- Continue with concrete repairs on the Beacon Street side of the building.
- Continue with masonry façade demo on the Beacon Street side of the building.
- Continue with masonry demo on swing above the Annex.
- Continue installation of relieving angles on the Bay State Road side of the building.
- Start rebuilding exterior façade on the Bay State Road side of the building.
Roof (Exterior)
- Continue with layout and installation of CMU at parapet on the Bay State Road side of the building.
- Coring and saw-cutting new holes and openings.
- Temporary roofing of penetrations and parapet.
Alley Between Annex and Myles at Bay State Road
- Form and pour slab on grade – Access from Bay State Road.
- Site work – Continue with new sewer line to Annex. Trucks and equipment will be working at the corner of Raleigh Street and Bay State Road.
- Alley – Complete grading, form and pour slab on grade, and install asphalt.
