Infrastructure upgrades being done to this 100-year-old South Campus brownstone provided the opportunity for the interior to be updated. Combining the infrastructure work with the interior renovations was less disruptive to students, since it reduced the amount of time required to complete the work and made the space more comfortable for residents.
Each of the eight units were freshly painted and had new carpet installed throughout. In addition, upgrades to appliances and lighting were included, with energy efficiency in mind. LED fixtures replaced old fixtures throughout the building and each unit received Energy Star-compliant refrigerators and ranges. The buildings’ plumbing was also upgraded, including installation of new water and drain lines which will last for the next 20 years.
