West Campus Dining Expansion – Construction Update – 06/23/23

General Project Updates

Work is ongoing for the West Campus Dining Expansion and repairs to the West Campus steam line were started.
A large portion of the West Campus Plaza has been fenced off to accommodate both the steam line repair project and the West Campus Dining Expansion project.
Pedestrian traffic from Agganis Way through the Plaza is still permissible with police details on site to direct pedestrian traffic as needed.
Work for the Residence Life Office is substantially complete, pending new furniture and some minor punch list items.
Work to renovate the Dining Hall is underway with the floor demolition complete, new partitions for the additional dining area and gluten-free concept are underway, floor preparation in the back-of-house kitchen is in progress. Rough plumbing, electrical and mechanical installations are ongoing.

Work this week includes the installation of flooring in the back-of-house kitchen, light installations in the dining hall, sheetrock installations at the new walls throughout, ceramic flooring in the servery area, and extensive landscaping work in the plaza area.
There could be impacts to pedestrian traffic in and around Claflin Hall as site work continues. Police Details will be on site to detour traffic as required.
