Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 9/2/22
During the weekend of September 3rd
On Saturday, crews will be working from the elevated platforms continuing the installation of panels at the 5th and 7th-floor soffits on the exterior of the building. The site contractor and landscaper will continue the installation of the retaining wall, ramp, and planting beds between the building at the Bay State brownstones.
On the interior of the building, installation of the atrium’s monumental stair and the tower’s communicating stair will continue. Framing, hanging, and finishing drywall and installing ceilings will progress in the tower. Crews from the mechanical and electrical subcontractors will be on site continuing the connections, startup, and finish device installation of their respective systems.
A second shift, from 3 pm to 11 pm, will be utilized on Saturday to continue Stair F’s installation.
On Sunday, crews will return to the site to continue installing Stair D and Stair F elements.
Deliveries for miscellaneous materials will also occur throughout the day.

During the week of September 5th
On Monday, September 5th, limited crews are expected on site due to the Labor Day holiday.
At the atrium, crews continue to install the final sections of guardrails on the monumental stair and along the bridge/top of the sit-step on the 2nd floor. Framing for the finish wall paneling will continue.
On the ground floor, the installation of stone flooring and the installation of ceiling systems will continue.
Installation of finishes will continue throughout, including installation of whiteboards, corner guards, cabinetry, wood and acoustical ceilings, interior glass and doors, final paint, polishing concrete floors, office carpet, and plumbing fixture install.
The elevator subcontractor will continue the installation of elevators 1, 2, and 3 including the construction of the cabs on the north side of the core.
At the terraces, spreading soil and installation of pavers continues on the 7th floor. Installation of the base for the glass guardrail continues on the 10th and 15th floors.
Installation of metal panels will continue at the soffit on the underside of the 7th floor.
Installation of the guardrail’s components of Stair F, the communicating stair, continues.
Installation of the permanent roofing systems continues on the 19th and 20th floors.
Exterior site work continues on all sides of the building, and preparations for new sidewalks continue along Commonwealth Avenue and Granby Street. The retaining wall, ramp, stair, and planter installation continues at the rear of the Bay State Road brownstones.
The project will continue utilizing a second shift, from 3 pm to 11 pm, Monday through Friday to continue interior work, accommodate off-hour deliveries and material loading, and debris removal.
Please be aware in addition to daily deliveries, trucks with large trailers will be staged adjacent to and moving around the site and pedestrians should be aware of all safety and directional signage in the areas as pedestrian and vehicle travel paths may be altered.
