Traffic Management Plan
Saturday, July 9th
Work hours for interior work will change to a 6 am – 3:30 pm shift. All exterior work will keep a 7 am start time.
BrandSafway to continue with scaffold erection along the north elevation on Back Street and erection of man and material hoist.
SOS Demolition will have crew members on site continuing with the saw cutting of slab penetrations for the new exhaust risers and select partition demo in the vicinity of the new elevator bank.
Royal Steam will be on site installing new exhaust duct risers.
Riggs Contracting will be working on miscellaneous concrete infills and patching.
Murphy Electric to continue with tracing of existing circuits and rework as needed.
Consigli Construction will have staff on site for job site supervision.
Removal of mailboxes for re-use in the renovated mailroom at project completion.
During the week of July 11th
BrandSafway to continue with scaffold erection on Back Street north elevation.
Riggs Masonry will continue work on the east and south elevations, performing demolition of window headers and building corners in preparation for restoration.
Riggs Masonry to continue with new lintel installation and waterproofing details at window headers throughout the west, east and south elevations.
SOS Corp to get into slab penetrations at B and C stacks.
SOS Corp continuing with select demo in the vicinity of the new bank of elevators and stairwell, working top floors down.
SOS Corp and Costello Dismantling will continue abatement and demolition on the 9th floor.
Vertex Companies will be on site performing air monitoring of these activities.
Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors continue to work on make safe of existing building services in the vicinity of work areas.
These contractors will also be working together on any coordination of existing services in conflict with the new bathroom exhaust riser work.
Cogswell Sprinkler will continue with temporary fire protection measures and select rework of existing piping.
Royal Steam (mechanical contractors) to continue with preparation and installation of new bathroom exhaust duct risers.
Mass Acoustics (metal stud and drywall) to continue with fire escape door infills and shaft wall construction as made available.
Murphy Electric will continue with make safe and circuit tracing. Team will work on basement emergency electric room relocations.
The Dow Company will be out on Bay State Road painting out the bike lane adjustment for course of construction.

General Project Information
Daily project work hours have been adjusted starting the week of 7/11:
Interior work: Now 6 am – 3:30 pm
Exterior work: Remains 7 am – 3:30 pm
The Traffic Management Plan for the project has been approved by the Boston Transportation Department. (Implementation of plan underway this week into next).
Relocated accessible parking spaces to the front of 81 and 83 Bay State Road, posted for use on 6/29.
Jersey barrier site containment in place, future pedestrian walkway also in place. The city sidewalk in front of Kilachand Hall remains accessible until the bike lane is painted.
Bike lane painting for relocation will now occur the week of 7/11, a temporary bike lane is in place.
BU parking spots directly behind Kilachand Hall on Back Street remain ano-parking zone. This will continue for the duration of the project to maintain an adequate drive lane for local traffic on Back Street and allow for the construction team to safely contain a work area north of the dormitory.
Kilachand Hall will be unoccupied until August 19th, 2022 while construction gets underway. There will be no access to anyone other than the project team and BU trade shops. August 19this the start of RA move-ins for the fall semester, August 29this the campus-wide move-in date.
