Kilachand Hall Phase 2 – Construction Update – 05/20/22
During the week of May 23rd
Monday, May 23rd, through the morning of Wednesday, May 25th, Residence Life and the Housing and Custodial teams will be completing move out and cleaning for the summer construction.
Full site containment will begin mid-week. This will be in place for the remainder of the construction project. This will occur on Back Street as well.
Scaffold erection to continue with the east side elevation in the alley and the south side elevations both east and west of front entrance.
Scrim (mesh protection) installation to continue west elevation.
The masonry restoration crew will be mobilizing this week to start demo and removal of specific facade elements to be replaced, mainly window header lintels and building corners.
Interior carpentry crew to begin construction of separation barriers to contain work zones.
Demo crew to mobilize and prep for interior demolition scope pertaining to the new bathroom exhaust risers.
Completion of scrim install at the southwest elevation.
General Project Information
Daily work hours are from 7 am – 3:30 pm.
Notifications will be posted if there is any potential weekend work.
Kilachand Hall will be unoccupied during the summer of ’22 while construction gets under way so there will be no access to anyone other than the project team.
