Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 05/06/22
During the weekend of May 7th
On Saturday, installation of the atrium’s monumental stair will continue. Framing, hanging, and finishing drywall will continue in the tower. Crews will also be on site assembling and installing curtain wall panels. Workers will continue applying fire proofing materials to the buildings steel beams and columns. Crews from the mechanical and electrical subcontractors will be on site continuing the install of their respective systems.

During the week of May 9th
Installation of curtain wall panels at the various leave-out locations throughout the tower.
At the atrium, crews continue to install the monumental stair. Focus this week is on the section connecting the ground to the second floor and securing it to the building’s structure. Crews will also continue installing rails on the stair runs.
In the podium, finishes are underway. The folding partition will be installed dividing two of the lower-level classrooms. Installation of the whiteboards in the classrooms continues. Installation of lockers will begin on the lower level, millwork install will continue throughout. Painting and ceiling install will continue floors 4 and 5.
In the tower, finishes are also underway on the lower floors with floor polishing, ceiling installation, millwork install, and wall painting occurring.
On the 11th through 16th floors of the tower wall framing, hanging drywall, and finishing walls are underway.
The elevator subcontractor will continue the installation of elevators 1, 2, and 3 on the north side of the towers’ core, involving raceways and elevator rail components.
Installation of the roofing system at the terraces will continue with the focus being on the 12th and 15th floor terraces.
At the soffits on the underside of the 12th and 15th floors, installation of waterproofing and framing components continues.
At the corner of Bay State Road and Granby Street, crews will be completing installation of infrastructure for the storm drainage and geothermal systems. Crews will begin backfilling this area and begin installing foundations for landscape features.
Trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
