Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 03/04/22
During the weekend of March 5th
On Saturday, crews from the mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) trades will be on site continuing installation of their respective systems. Installation of the atrium’s monumental stair will also advance on Saturday. Crews will continue to frame and board walls in the tower. Crews will be on site assembling and installing curtain wall panels.

During the week of March 7th
Installation of curtain wall panels at the tower will continue on the 15th and 16th floors. Delivery and assembly of the panels before installation will continue on the floors above.
In the tower’s sub-basement and lower levels, crews will continue installing tile in the bathrooms and polishing the concrete slab.
In the lower level, crews will continue framing ceilings throughout and begin installing the raised flooring system in the classrooms.
On floors 2, 3, and 4, crews will continue finishing walls.
On floors 5 through 9 of the tower, wall framing, overhead MEP rough install continues. Hanging and finishing drywall will follow.
On floors 10 and 11, crews will be applying an intumescent coating to the steel columns.
On floors 10 through 17, the MEP subcontractors will continue with system rough in, installing electrical conduit, hangers, and piping. Wall framing will occur in select areas.
In the mechanical spaces on the 18th and 19th floors, crews will continue installing piping, ductwork, conduit, and wires to the mechanical equipment.
Installation of the atrium’s monumental stairs will continue. The focus for this week will be on the section connecting the 4th and 5th floors.
The elevator subcontractor will continue the buildout of the shafts for elevators 7 and 8 in the podium.
Following an inspection by the state’s elevator inspector on cars 4 and 5, the workforce will begin to utilize these elevators for vertical transportation through the building. This will allow removal of the temporary construction hoist to begin.
Installation of the roofing system at the terraces will continue as weather allows.
Within the alleyway, the site contractor will continue installing geothermal well circuits and will begin installing utility structures and piping for the stormwater system.
Unrelated to the construction of the Center for Computing & Data Sciences, starting Monday, behind Sargent College, crews will begin installing drainage structures and piping. All work will take place within the Center for Computing & Data Sciences site fence.
Trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
