Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 10/22/21
During the weekend of October 23rd
On Saturday, crews from multiple trades will be on site continuing to advance the spray fireproofing and intumescent operation. Detailing of the structural steel columns and beams, installation of equipment for elevators 4, 5, and 6, and installation of mechanical rough will continue. Crews will also continue installing tarps on the exterior of the building in preparation for winter.
At the alley between the Bay State Road brownstones and the Center for Computing & Data Sciences, crews will continue drilling helical anchors for the new retaining wall.
On Sunday, crews will return to the site to continue the spray fireproofing and intumescent operations.
Intumescent coating and mechanical rough install ongoing
During the week of October 25th
Bolting and detailing of the tower’s structural steel frame will continue on floors 19 and 20.
Installation of the building’s stairs will continue. “Stair B”, located north of the tower’s core, will continue through the 20th floor, concrete will be placed up to the 16th floor. In the podium at “Stair C”, a concrete placement will occur from the ground floor up to level 5.
Final detailing, setting rebar, installing wire mesh, and sleeving for MEP penetrations will occur in advance of a concrete placement for the tower’s 19th and 20th floors.
Installation of curtain wall panels will continue at the podium’s 5th floor.
In the tower’s subbasement and lower level, crews from the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors will continue installing electrical wiring, hangers, piping, and equipment for the building systems. Wall framing and drywall installation will continue.
On floors 2 through 16 of the tower, the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors will continue installing electrical conduit, hangers, and piping. Wall layout and framing will continue on the lower floors of the tower.
Crews will be applying a fireproof coating on the interior steel beams and columns for the tower’s 14th and 15th-floor framing (working from the 13th and 14th floors respectively) and a white fireproof coating on the exterior columns for the 5th and 6th floors.
The elevator subcontractor will begin installation of equipment and rails for elevators 4, 5, and 6, located on the south side of the tower’s core.

In addition to deliveries noted above other trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
