Installing structural steel columns and beams for the tower’s 4th floor

During the weekend of June 19th

  • On Saturday, crews will be on site continuing to erect structural steel columns and beams. This work will occur in two shifts, first from 7 am to 3 pm and second from 3 pm to 10 pm.
  • On Sunday, workers will be on site working within the tower’s core continuing the set up of the temporary construction hoist. This work will occur between 7 am and 6 pm.

During the week of June 21st

  • The erection of the building’s structural steel frame will continue. Inside the tower’s core, the installation of steel beams and decking will continue. This work will also be occurring daily during a second shift from 3 pm to 10 pm. Two to six tractor trailers delivering structural steel are expected to be arriving and departing from the site throughout the two shifts daily.
  • In the tower’s core, concrete floor slab placements are scheduled for the 2nd floor through the 6th floor.
  • In the tower’s subbasement, crews from the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) subcontractors will continue installing conduit, wire, hangers, and piping for their respective systems.
  • In the alley behind the Bay State Road brownstones (units #176, #178, #180, #182, and #184), backfilling of the geothermal wells #14, #15, #16, and #17 will occur.
  • Following the completion of the geothermal work behind the Bay State Road brownstones, the main drain line to the building will be installed in the alley between Sargent and the brownstones. As the mainline is set, connections from each of the brownstone’s downspouts to the city’s storm drainage system will be made. The exterior egress path from the rear of the brownstones will be impacted temporarily during the day while this activity takes place. The egress path will be restored to a safe and passable condition at the end of each day. Please be aware of all directional signage in the area.
  • The installation of the stair will continue within the tower’s core from the 2nd to the 3rd floor.
  • Crews will be placing a concrete topping slab in the tower’s subbasement.
  • In addition to the deliveries noted above, other trucking activity to and from the site will be occurring daily with trucks entering and exiting the designated gates.
  • Please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered. We will continue to provide up-to-date information via these notifications.
