Installing reinforcing bars for the tower slab
In preparation for significant foundation concrete placement, scheduled for 12/5/20, the contractor is required to adjust normal operations. As a result, there are several notable changes that were put in place this week and will continue.
Beginning at 6 am on Saturday and Sunday, deliveries of reinforcing materials will arrive on the site. On the west side of the site, crews will continue the installation of reinforcing materials for the mat slab in the tower portion of the building.
During the week of November 30th
Deliveries of materials starting at 6 am will continue, working extended days Monday – Friday will occur.
In the podium, located at the east end of the site, the installation of reinforcing materials and formwork for the ground floor slab will continue in advance of the concrete placement for the slab.
Backfilling against the podium foundation walls will begin.
The installation of reinforcing materials for the tower’s mat slab will continue throughout the week as the project prepares for the slab’s concrete placement in early December.
On Saturday, December 5th, roughly 5,000 cubic yards of concrete will be poured for the tower’s mat slab. This critical activity will require an extended work day on site due to the need for continuous placement. Crews will begin on site at 4 am and will continue until the activity is complete around 11 pm. This activity will require three concrete pumps that will be set up on site. The third pump will be set up on the west side of the site and into the travel lane of Granby Street. Vehicular through traffic will utilize the parking lane and pedestrian travel will not be affected.
Please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered. We will continue to provide you with up to date information via these notifications.
