Excavation wrapping up as foundation work begins
During the weekend of November 14th
On Saturday, crews will be on site to continue with the excavation of the remaining soils from the tower portion of the building, located at the west end of the site. Crews will be transporting the excavated material for off-site disposal. Please be aware that trucks will be entering and exiting the site via the construction gate at the corner of Commonwealth Avenue and Granby Street.
The excavation in the tower portion will continue on Sunday. Trucking will not occur on Sunday, as the material will be stored on site.
During the week of November 16th
The excavation of the remaining material in the tower portion of the building will be completed early in the week.
Following the completion of the excavation, a crane will arrive on site early next week. This crane will be set up on Granby Street to pick up and remove the excavation equipment out of the hole and from the site. The operation will occupy space within Granby Street and will shift all vehicle travel to the parking lane; pedestrian travel on the Granby Street sidewalk will not be affected.
Following the excavation activity is the placement of a concrete mud mat. The mud mat will serve as a working surface for the upcoming waterproofing, formwork, and rebar activities.
The installation of rebar and formwork for the tower slab will begin and continue for the next few weeks.
In the podium, the installation of rebar and formwork for the ground floor slab will continue.
Following the waterproofing of the foundation walls, work backfilling the space between the foundation wall and the support of excavation sheets will begin.
Please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered.
We will continue to provide you with up-to-date information via these notifications.
