Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 9/4/20

During the weekend of September 5th
- On Saturday, crews will be on site to continue with the installation of cross bracing for the support of the excavation system.
- Drilling of the inclinometer at the north edge of the tower will continue.
During the week of September 7th
- Due to the Labor Day holiday, there will be no work on site on Monday.
- Excavation for the building foundations continues, working from west to east across the site.
- Installation of cross bracing members for the support of excavation system continue in the tower portion of the building.
- A concrete “mud mat” will be poured at the bottom of the excavation in the podium. This will act as a working and building surface for the rest of the building’s foundation system.
- A waterproofing membrane will be installed beginning in the podium.
- Horizontal piping will be installed connecting the individual geo-thermal wells that were drilled last summer.
- Mobilization for the tower crane assembly will begin on Friday and will continue throughout the weekend. For additional information regarding this activity, please follow the link below.
- As activity in and around the site begins to increase, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered.

Tower crane assembly is scheduled for September 11 – September 13.
