Continued excavation for building foundations in the tower

During the weekend of August 22nd

  • On Saturday crews will be on site to continue with the installation of cross bracing of the support of excavation system.

During the week of August 24th

  • Excavation for the building foundations continues. The first cut (down roughly eight feet from existing grade), will continue in the tower section of the building, with the installation of cross bracing members for the support of excavation system follow behind the excavation.
  • Installation of rebar and formwork for the tower crane foundation will continue as crews prepare to pour the concrete foundation mid-week.
  • Crews will be working in Granby Street to excavate a trench and install the new sewer feed into the site for future connection to the building.
  • The project is finalizing plans to assemble a tower crane on site starting on Friday, September 11th and continuing through Sunday, September 13th. This activity will require the closure of Granby Street to vehicle access. Stay tuned for more details as the plans and logistics for this activity are finalized with city and University officials.
  • As activity in and around the site begins to increase, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered.
