CFA Renovations – Construction Update – 6/5/20
For the period of June 5th – June 12th:
General:
The west alley entrance will remain closed over the next several weeks as work continues in the alleyway. The building can be accessed utilizing the new ramp on the east side of the building as well as the center entrance along Commonwealth Avenue. Temporary signs are posted to help direct you through the first floor.
Exterior:
East Façade
- Installation of the 2nd level capitals will continue through the next 2 weeks.
- Repointing of limestone will continue.
South Façade
- Miscellaneous masonry work will continue over the next several weeks.
West Façade
- Waterproofing of the alleyway will commence.
- Installation of granite below the windows will follow.
North Façade
- Repairs to the window jambs will continue over the next several weeks.
- Installation of relieving angles commences with a duration of two weeks.
Archways
- Installation of sunshades will continue about the archways on the south façade
- Exterior window trim will continue over the next two weeks.
Interior:
Basement
- Work will continue with the installation of the controls for the HVAC systems over the next two weeks.
- Painting will commence in areas along the south side of the building.
On the 1st Level
Student Lounge
- Installation of the interior window trim and grills will be completed by weeks end.
- Mirrors will be installed on the east wall.
Art Gallery
- Installation of the glass walls, panels, and doors will commence.
- Installation of lights and finishes will be ongoing.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
