Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 5/22/20
During the week of May 25th:
Continued placement of the surcharge materials
Crews will continue with the surcharge work, involving laying gravel material in the alley between the Granby St. lot and the Bay State Rd. brownstones.
Pending receipt of the construction management plan by the contractor, sidewalk protection, and pedestrian barriers will be placed in the parking lane as preparations begin to shift the sidewalk for the duration of construction.
Pending receipt of the construction management plan by the contractor, any remaining furnishings (benches, signage, etc.) will be removed from the site.
Pending receipt of the construction management plan by the contractor, excavation within the perimeter of the site for installation of the support of excavation system will continue.
Pending receipt of the construction management plan by the contractor, the installation of utility feeds from Granby St. to the site will begin.
Steel support structure for the building mock-up
At the mock-up (766 Commonwealth Avenue parking lot), a steel structure will be assembled in preparations for the first façade materials to be installed in June.
As activity in and around the site begins to increase, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered.
