CFA Renovations – Construction Update – 3/13/20
During March 13th – March 20th:
(Please note that there is work scheduled for Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th)
General:
Beginning the morning of Saturday, March 7th, the west alley entrance will be closed as work begins to remove the staging. The new ramp on the east side of the building will be open as well as the center entrance along Comm Ave. Temporary signs are posted to help direct you through the first floor.
Exterior:
There is work scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th. This work will consist of the demolition of the west alley and the installation of window trim.
East Façade
- Miscellaneous masonry work will continue through the week.
South Façade
- Miscellaneous masonry work will continue over the next two weeks.
West Façade
- Demolition of the asphalt alleyway will begin.
North Façade
- Repairs to the window jambs has begun and will continue over the next two weeks.
Archways
- Installation of the glazing in the archways on the 1st floor of the building is ongoing with completion set for the end of March.
Interior:
There is work scheduled for this Saturday, March 14th and Sunday, March 15th. This work will consist of the installation of the art gallery floor, painting in stairwell D, work on the terrazzo tile in the 1st floor lobbies, installation of handrails in the movement studio & student lounge.
On the 1st Level
Student Lounge
- Installation of the millwork bench tops and base will be completed by the end of the week.
- The installation of the handrails will be completed by the end of the week.
Art Gallery
- Work will continue on the installation of the glass wall.
- Work on the new floor has begun and is set to be completed over the next two weeks.
- Painting of the walls and columns is ongoing.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
