Center for Computing & Data Sciences – Construction Update – 3/13/20
During the week of March 16th:
- The site subcontractor will continue to mobilize on site which involves delivering heavy equipment, stockpiling materials, setting up to begin pre-excavation work.
- Members of the BU Facilities Management & Operations team will be removing items such as benches and signage which will be salvaged for use around the Charles River Campus.
- The site subcontractor will begin pre-excavation in the alleyway for the support of excavation panels. They will also be excavating soil materials along the existing underground.
- Telecommunications duct bank in the alleyway to verify the as-built conditions.
- Truck activity to and from the site will increase throughout the week as loads of materials are delivered to the site daily.
- The existing retaining wall in the alley between the Bay State Road brownstones and the Granby Street parking lot will be demolished.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
