CFA Renovations – Construction Update – 2/14/20
During February 14th – February 21st:
(Please note that there is no work scheduled for this weekend)
General:
Temporary signs are posted to help direct you through the first floor. The main building access is through the west entrance near the concert hall. Stair access directly off Commonwealth Ave will be open and closed periodically as construction continues and signage will indicate status. The central stair is always available for emergency egress.
Exterior:
East Façade
- Work on the installation of the ramp and handrails will continue through the end of the month.
- Paving will begin after the ramp is completed.
South Façade
- Removal of the staging on the southwest façade will continue through the end of the month.
West Façade
- Window washing on the west façade will begin and staging removal will follow shortly after.
North Façade
- Repairs to the window jambs have begun and will continue into mid-March.
Interior:
On the Ground Level
- The welding and installation of piping in the mechanical rooms will continue and is expected to be completed by the end of the month.
On the 1st Level
- Demolition of the art gallery floor has begun and rebuilding will continue through the end of the month.
- The installation of the vitrines in the art gallery will continue through the end of the month.
- Painting in the student lounge has begun and will continue through the end of the month.
- Installation of millwork has also begun in the student lounge.
As a reminder to all, please be aware of all directional signage, as pedestrian travel paths may be altered at both the interior and exterior of the building. Your safety is imperative!
