Geothermal Well Drilling Initiative – Construction Update – 8/9/19

During the week of August 12th

Parking Lot N

  • Construction equipment will be making multiple trips from the alley to the parking lot N storage area.
  • The subcontractor will be using a vacuum excavation truck to remove sediment from the dewatering tanks in the alley and will be placing the material within the fenced-in area to settle ahead of disposal.
  • The subcontractor will continue to discharge water from the dewatering tanks into the storm water drainage system as needed.

Alleyway

  • The drilling subcontractor has completed the installation of the high-performance geothermal exchange vertical piping at GT-11 and anticipates installing the vertical piping in GT-10 and GT-14. Verticality measurements were completed on the geothermal well bore hole GT-10.
  • The drilling subcontractor will continue drilling geothermal well boreholes at GT-14 and GT-9, progressing westward down the alleyway. They anticipate drilling and setting the steel pipe casing at geothermal wells GT-12, GT-13, and GT-17. Please note that GT-12 & GT-13 will require coordination with BU, as tenant parking will be disrupted. Suffolk Construction will coordinate this work with BU in advance.
  • The subcontractor will be using a vacuum excavation truck to remove sediment from the dewatering tanks in the alley and will be placing the material within the fenced-in area to settle ahead of disposal.
