Joan and Edgar Booth Theatre & Boston University Production Center – Construction Activity – 8/25/17 – 9/11/17
For August 25, 2017 through September 11, 2017:
- Permitted by the Town of Brookline and in accordance with the approved Construction Management Plan, authorized work hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays, and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday work schedules must be requested and approved by the Town.
- Brookline Police details will continue to be posted at the construction site entrance gate at Dummer Street, to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
- Completion of roofing on the theatre building
- Completion of interior wall painting on the third level of the theatre building
- Completion of ceiling mounted mechanical and electrical systems in the flexible theatre
- Rigging of ceiling mounted support brackets for the equipment in the flexible theatre is underway
- Installation of granite facing on the Dummer Street elevation
- Grading and installation of the sidewalks along Dummer Street elevation
- Installation of parking booth pad and associated electrical infrastructure
Key Construction Activities
- Place stone base at production wing exterior walls at select locations, beneath the metal panels
- Progress on the installation of the pre-cast concrete exoskeleton on the east, north, and west elevations
- Installation of the exoskeleton, along Commonwealth Avenue will continue over the weekend on Saturday, 8/26 and Sunday, 8/27
- Complete electrical wiring to support power equipment
- Completion of drywall on level four of the theatre building
- Floor staining and polishing in the production wing corridor
