CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 10/2/16
For the week of October 2, 2016:
Waterproofing of the air-vapor barrier (AVB) on the notch on the Morse Auditorium side of the building will take place, as well as rainscreen installation using mast climber 5. AVB installation will continue on the first and second floors below mast climber 5. Rainscreen installation will continue on the Cummington Mall side from the third floor down. Taping and painting of the drywall soffit behind the white frames (TGP) on first floor will take place, in addition to installation of TGP at the connector.
Underground utilities will continue on the College of Communication side. Miscellaneous roof detailing on the high roof will continue, as well as roofing on the east stair and service elevator. Expansion joint work on the second floor roof abutting 3 Cummington and the connector bridge will continue.
Miscellaneous wall framing will continue on floors 1 and 9. Interior wall framing will continue at the notch on the Morse Auditorium side where the construction hoist was removed. Drywall installation will continue on floors 1 and 9. In-wall and above-ceiling electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler rough will continue on floors 1 and 9. East stair boarding will take place. Ceiling grid installation will continue on floors 7 and 8. Floor moisture mitigation will continue on the seventh floor in addition to flooring on the fourth floor. Passenger elevator installation will continue. Installation of fire shutter soffits on floors 6 through 9 will continue.
Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
