CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 9/18/16
For the week of September 18, 2016:
Mast climber 5 will be in operation, and the notch on the Morse Auditorium side of the building will continue to get enclosed. Installation of rain screen will continue on the connector bridge and from the third floor down on the Cummington Mall side. Installation of the white frames (TGP) on Commonwealth Avenue and Cummington Mall sides will continue in addition to supports for TGP at the connector. Underground utilities will continue on the College of Communication side. Miscellaneous roof detailing will be ongoing on the high roof.
Miscellaneous wall framing will continue on floors 1 and 9. Wall framing will also take place at the notch on the Morse Auditorium side where the construction hoist was removed. In-wall and above-ceiling electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and sprinkler rough will continue on floors 1 and 9. Drywall installation will continue on the 8th and 9th floors, and soffit installation will continue on floors 7 and 8.
Ceiling grid installation will continue on 7th and 8th floor. Floor moisture mitigation will be starting on the 6th floor. The passenger elevator installation will continue. Installation of fire shutter supports and soffits on floors 6 through 9 will take place. Third floor cage-wash equipment installation will continue.
Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
The construction team will hold scheduled communication meetings that are open to the University community throughout the semester. The meeting schedule will be posted on the website. The next communication meeting will be September 22 at 10:30 AM in Morse Auditorium.
