BU Theatre Center – Construction Activity – 7/1/16-7/24/16

Project Update for July 1, 2016 through July 24, 2016

Site preparation and enabling construction activities will continue as permitted by the Town of Brookline and in accordance with the approved Construction Management Plan.
Authorized work hours are 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., on weekdays, and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Parking and access to the site is closed to the public and University faculty and staff through the end of the project – projected to be in August 2017.
The access ramp from Commonwealth Avenue will be available for scheduled University deliveries to the existing 808 Commonwealth Avenue building through July 5, 2016.
After July 5, 2016, the access ramp will be closed for demolition and all University deliveries to 808 Commonwealth Avenue will use the Essex Street loading area and freight elevator.

Key Construction Activities

Week ending July 1, 2016 – The site access and loading dock area off of Essex Street has been paved to allow loading dock access for 808 Commonwealth Avenue. Utility relocations for 808 Commonwealth Avenue under the parking access ramp from Commonwealth Avenue will continue.
July 4^th weekend (Saturday) – No work is scheduled for the holiday weekend.
July 5, 2016 through July 15, 2016 – Dummer Street utility work will begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Dummer Street will be reduced to a single lane of traffic. Brookline PD details will be posted along Dummer Street.
July 11, 2016 through August 1, 2016 – Pile driving for the support of excavation will begin on July 11, 2016 on the south side of the construction site along Dummer Street.
Now through August 31, 2016 – Demolition, excavation, trenching, and all underground site utilities installations will be ongoing through the summer months.
