Myles Standish Hall – Construction Activity – 06/25/16 to 07/1/16

For 06/25/16 to 07/1/16:

Deliveries

  • Subcontractors will receive deliveries all week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Beacon Street and Bay State Road.

Onsite Construction

 Saturday (6/25/16) – Permission and permitting have been secured from the City to work from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

  • Demolition throughout building – Interior
  • Load out of dumpsters on the Beacon Street side of the building – Dumpster will be swapped throughout the day.
  • Pipe staging erection on the Beacon Street side of the building.
  • Swing staging installation on the Beacon Street side of the building above the Annex – Swing staging will require workers to be on roof.
  • Activities will require trucks and equipment in point park area – Access from Bay State Road will be required for dumpsters and equipment.

Man and Material Hoist Construction

  • Installation of hoist.
  • Start constructing loading dock and infill around gates.

Demolition Abatement

  • Load out at Beacon Street – Load out demolition debris from 1st floor to dumpster.
  • Continue with load out down chute – Interior
  • Demolition and load out of basement.
  • Abatement on floors 2, 3, 8, and 9 – Interior
  • Demolition after abatement at buffer zone on floors 6 and 7.
  • Demolition of floor 9.
  • Continue demolition of existing freight elevator – Interior

Masonry Restoration (Exterior)

  • Continue with removal of windows on the Bay State Road side of the building.
  • Start removal of windows on the Beacon Street side of the building.
  • Continue with masonry demo on the Bay State Road side of the building.
  • Continue installation of staging on the Beacon Street side of the building.
  • Install swing staging above Annex roof.

 Roof (Exterior)

  • Continue with demolition of roof curbs and penthouse, and installation of temporary roof curbs.

Site Work

  • Continue excavation for transformer pad foundation in the alley – Excavator and trucks for load out of dirt.
  • Form and pour new foundation walls for transformer pad.
