CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 5/1/16
For the week of May 1, 2016:
On the Commonwealth Avenue side of the building, the project team will be replacing some of the glass units starting next week. There will be welding for the exterior wall system on the College of Communications side. Air and vapor barrier installation and installation of window frames will continue on the Cummington Mall side. Along the Morse Auditorium side, there will be framing and sheathing from the swing staging, and installation of the air and vapor barrier from the mast climber will begin. On the roof, the team will continue to frame, sheath, and flash the perimeter parapet walls.
Wall framing will continue on floors 7, 8 and 9. Installation of in-wall electrical and plumbing and above-ceiling electrical, mechanical, and plumbing will continue on floors 2 through 8. The team will begin to install drywall on floors 2, 3, and 4. The topping slab in the human imaging/FMRI area on 1st floor will be poured.
Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to police, safety personnel, and posted signs.
