CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 4/24/16
For the week of April 24, 2016:
Exterior curtain wall is substantially complete on the Commonwealth Avenue side of the building, with some minor adjustments required. Curtain wall installation on the College of Communications side will continue on the 8th floor. Air and vapor barrier installation will continue on the Cummington Mall side, as well as installation of window frames and welding clips for the curtain wall. Installation of framing and sheathing on the Morse Auditorium side from the mast climber and swing staging will continue, along with welding clips for the curtainwall. On the roof, installation of the wind screen will continue on the Cummington Mall side.
Wall framing will continue on floors 7, 8, and 9. Installation of in-wall data, electrical, and plumbing and above-ceiling data, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing will continue from floors 2 through 8. The team will begin to install drywall on floors 2, 3, and 4. Spray-on fire proofing will be installed on the 1st floor and patching will be taking place throughout the building.
Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to police, safety personnel, and posted signs.
