CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 3/20/16

For the week of March 13, 2016:

Exterior curtain wall will continue on the north elevation, continuing on floors 6 and up. Curtain wall work will also continue on the west elevation, completing the 1st floor and moving up. Exterior wall framing will continue on the south elevation to the 9th floor. Installation of the air and vapor barrier will begin on the south elevation. The installation of the 3rd mast climber on the south elevation will be complete by early in the week, and installation of the 4th mast climber on the east elevation will begin.

The last big concrete pours are scheduled for mid-week to complete the slab in the fMRI area as well as a high roof area.

Interior framing is finishing up on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and continuing up through the 6th floor. Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical work will continue in walls and above the ceiling on floors 4, 5, and 6.   Installation of the spray-on fire proofing is finishing up on the 9th floor, and then areas that were left out on the floors will be completed.

Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.

The construction team holds regularly scheduled communication meetings that are open to the University community. These meetings are held at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (Morse Auditorium) either in the project site office in the basement or the auditorium. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 10 a.m. in Morse Auditorium.
