CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of 3/6/16

For the week of March 6, 2016:

Concrete pours are scheduled for remaining 1st floor areas. The project team will begin removing winter weather protection.

Exterior curtain wall work will continue on the north elevation on floors 4 through 6.

Electrical rooms, data rooms, and emergency electrical rooms are being built from the 2nd floor up to the 7th floor. Interior wall framing will continue on floors 2 through 5. Exterior wall framing will continue on the south elevation to the 9th floor. The third and final mast climber will be installed on the south elevation.

Installation of spray-on fire proofing will take place on the 8th and 9th floors and perimeter areas. Installation of mechanical duct and piping above the ceiling will take place on floors 2 through 6.

New activities this week will include sheet rock taping, constructing cement block walls, shielding, and testing ducts and pipes.

Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Avenue to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.

The construction team holds regularly scheduled communication meetings that are open to the University community. These meetings are held at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (Morse Auditorium) either in the project site office in the basement or the auditorium. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, March 24th at 10 a.m. in Morse Auditorium.
