CILSE – Construction Activity – Weeks of 12/21/15 – 1/8/2016
For the weeks of December 21, 2015 – January 8, 2016 :
Due to the upcoming holiday we are providing a three week update. The next update will be January 7, 2016.
Over the next 3 weeks the project team will continue to erect structural steel. There will be 2 concrete pours per week while we complete structural steel. We will begin to erect our exterior material hoist during the last week in December and we will be able to start accessing upper floors in January 2016.
The team will start loading the building with mechanical and electrical equipment on Saturday,12/26. During this week we will have a smaller assist crane on site offloading trucks.
Structural steel deliveries will continue to arrive each day between 7 AM and 9 AM. Periodic jobsite deliveries will appear during regular work hours, 7 AM to 4 PM. We will also be accepting deliveries off of Cummington Mall between the hours of 6 AM and 7 AM.
The project will be fully staffed and operational over the next 3 weeks with the exception of 12/25/2015 and 1/1/2016. Police details will continue to man the construction gates along Commonwealth Ave to ensure public safety. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
The construction team will continue to hold regularly scheduled communications meetings next semester. These meetings are open to the University community and are held in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (basement of Morse Auditorium) unless otherwise noted. Once the meeting schedule for the 2016 spring semester has been set, it will be posted on the project website.
