CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of December 13, 2015
The project team will continue erecting structural steel, with the work focusing on the eighth and ninth floors of floors of the nine-story structure. Next week we will begin our fireproofing operations. There will be concrete pours on Wednesday (12/16) and Friday (12/18) of next week. The team will continue to wrap the building with tarps to heat for winter weather operations.
To take advantage of the mild weather, we will be working extended hours next week with the project site open from 7 AM until 7 PM.
Structural steel deliveries will continue to arrive each day between 7 AM and 9 AM. and periodic jobsite deliveries will appear throughout the day. We will also be accepting deliveries off of Cummington Mall between the hours of 6 AM and 7 AM.
While traveling on Commonwealth Avenue, expect regular and routine stoppage of traffic, pedestrians, and bicyclists as delivery trucks enter and exit the site. The safety of our community is our highest priority, so we ask that you please pay close attention to posted signs, police, and safety personnel.
The construction team holds regularly scheduled communications meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM and the third Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM. These meetings are open to the University community and are held in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (basement of Morse Auditorium) unless otherwise noted. The schedule of these meetings is set through the fall semester (December 2015) and will be reexamined and/or reconfirmed for each semester as the project progresses.
The next communications meeting will be December 16 at 1:00 PM in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue.
