CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of October 4, 2015
For the week of October 4, 2015:
The project team has completed the building foundation and will now start the ground floor slab. There will be large concrete slab pours on Tuesday (10/6), Thursday (10/8), Friday (10/9), and Saturday (10/10) next week. Please be aware that there will be an increased amount of truck traffic during the morning hours on these dates. As always, there will be police details directing traffic and pedestrians at the construction entrances and exits. Please follow pedestrian signage and barricades along the construction site.
In addition to construction activities inside the site, utility companies will be performing work on Commonwealth Avenue Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Expect alternating traffic lane closures throughout the week.
The project team has been tracking the upcoming weather closely and is ready to implement our severe weather plan. If required, the project will be staffed 24/7 to ensure that the construction site is contained and maintained to ensure public safety.
The construction team will hold regularly scheduled communications meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM and the third Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM. These meetings are open to the University community and will be held in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (basement of Morse Auditorium) unless otherwise noted. The schedule of these meetings is set through the fall semester (December 2015) and will be reexamined and/or reconfirmed for each semester as the project progresses.
The next communications meeting will be October 21st at 1:00 PM in Morse Auditorium. Please note that the meeting will be held in Morse Auditorium instead of the project site office this week.
