CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of September 27, 2015
For the week of September 27, 2015:
The installation of the concrete foundation will continue next week. The foundation work is approximately 85% complete and is expected to be finished in early October. There will be two large concrete pours next week. Please be aware that there will be an increased amount of truck traffic on Monday (9/28) and Friday (10/2) during the morning hours.
Utility companies will be performing work on Commonwealth Avenue Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Expect alternating traffic lane closures throughout the week.
There will also be work taking place in the loading dock at 3-5 Cummington Mall this week. The team will work closely with building staff to ensure that daily operations are not impacted.
The project team continues to focus on the safety of the campus community. Please continue to follow the path identified by construction barricades and signs and be ready to take direction from police officers and project staff when necessary.
The construction team will hold regularly scheduled communications meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM and the third Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM. These meetings are open to the University community and will be held in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (basement of Morse Auditorium) unless otherwise noted. The schedule of these meetings is set through the fall semester (December 2015) and will be reexamined and/or reconfirmed for each semester as the project progresses.
The next communications meeting will be October 1st at 10:30 AM in Morse Auditorium. Please note that the meeting will be held in Morse Auditorium instead of the project site office this week in anticipation of a larger turnout.
