CILSE – Construction Activity – Week of August 30, 2015

For the week of August 30, 2015:

The installation of the concrete foundation will continue next week. Heavy truck traffic will be entering and leaving the site during the course of the week.

The project team’s primary focus is to provide a safe, reliable, well-marked, and consistent path of travel around the project site for the University and surrounding community pedestrians, bicycles, and automobiles. The project team has installed signage and pedestrian pathway markers to assist pedestrians and bike and automobile traffic safely along the eastbound side of Commonwealth Avenue. Police offers will be placed at the east and west ends of the site to properly direct construction traffic and to aid the public in navigating the temporary pedestrian path. We ask that local community follow the path identified by signage and construction barricades and be ready to take direction from police officers and project staff.

The construction team will hold regularly scheduled communications meetings on the first Thursday of every month at 10:30 AM and the third Wednesday of every month at 1:00 PM. These meetings are open to the University community and will be held in the project site office at 602 Commonwealth Avenue (basement of Morse Auditorium). The schedule of these meetings is set through the fall semester (December 2015) and will be reexamined and/or reconfirmed for each semester as the project progresses.

The next communications meeting will be September 3rd at 10:30 in Morse Auditorium. Please note that the meeting will be held in Morse Auditorium instead of the project site office this week in anticipation of a larger turnout.
