Admissions Reception Center Construction Update 10-8-13
The date for our final asphalt topping of the short section of Bay State Road from the Granby Street intersection up to and including the entry area of the CAS Parking Lot will be on Saturday November 2nd pending good weather…our fall back date should the weather turn against us would be the following Saturday November 9th. In either case, the roadway will be driveable by the following Sunday morning 6am. BU Parking Services will be responsible for opening the CAS Parking Lot.
On another note, we have been given notice today that National Grid Gas will be doing their own replacement of a gas main in this same section of roadway between the Granby Street intersection and the CAS Parking Lot entrance beginning this evening about 6pm and will be continuing this work each evening this week from 6pm to 2am. This will involve some trenching of the roadway and burial of a new 6” pvc pipe main. They have assured us that the necessary police details will be in place to direct traffic and that one lane access will always be open for travel and access to the CAS Parking Lot which will not need to close for this work.
