In her own words: “Participating in the MCP/UA program was an invaluable learning experience, in the classroom and through peer-to-peer exchanges. Additionally, the Symposium project provided a hands-on exercise that challenged me to turn what I learned about planning theory and concepts into creative yet pragmatic solutions.”

At VHB, Van provides sustainability planning services to stakeholders in both public and private sectors. She works on various projects including green building and infrastructure certifications, developing climate action and sustainability plans, and climate vulnerability assessment. Prior to VHB, Van served as Special Assistant/Sustainability Adviser to the Chief of Environment, Energy and Open Space at the City of Boston. In this role, she also supported the Climate Team in implementing the City’s Climate Action Plan and managing Greenovate Boston, a citywide sustainability program. While pursuing her Masters in City Planning at BU, Van worked as Program Manager at Second Nature, a non-profit organization with a mission to promote sustainability in higher education.
