Karen Peterkin
Infant Teacher
Hello, my name is Karen Peterkin, and I joined BUCC in the fall of 2025. I am a veteran educator with more than twenty years of experience in the field of early childhood education, working with children from Infancy through Preschool. Throughout my career, I have served in several leadership and instructional roles, including Assistant Director, then Director of the CATCH after-school program, and Assistant Kindergarten Teacher within the Weston Public Schools and Arlington Public Schools through the METCO Program.
I hold an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Development from Centennial College in Toronto, Canada, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College in Boston, Massachusetts.
I am deeply committed to supporting children, families, and communities, with a particular focus on advocating for marginalized and underserved populations. In addition to my professional work, I tutor 5th- and 6th-grade students to help them prepare for independent school opportunities. I am also the mother of three boys, an experience that continues to enrich my understanding of child development and family engagement.
In my personal time, I enjoy traveling, relaxing, and exploring cuisines from diverse cultures.
