Kristin Schlereth
Toddler Lead Teacher
Kristin believes that working with passionate Early Childhood Educators is an honor. She grew up on Long Island, New York, swimming, sailing, camping, and spending lots of time with family. Kristin received her MEd in Montessori Studies from Loyola College in Baltimore in 2001.
The Montessori method is a deep part of who Kristin is as an educator for many reasons, such as the way that nature brings out the best in toddlers and how much she enjoys supporting children in exploring and appreciating the outdoors. She says that if we want a world where environmentalism is a strong global practice, then we need to support children in their comfort and understanding of nature.
Kristin’s first Early Childhood Lead Teaching position was at the Amherst Montessori School, 26 years ago. Five years ago, Kristin made the shift from working with Preschool-age children to working with toddlers, and she has found that making this change was a great decision for the next step in her career as an educator.
Kristin moved to Boston four years ago. She loves the city and says it feels like home. She is busy on weekends, taking advantage of the arts, especially the live music, museums, and movies. She also loves the history, and the diverse foods that are available. She enjoys walking. Her favorite walks are around Franklin Park and Carson Beach. If you see her in the hallway, say hi!
